That made her feel better. She'd hated the idea that Eliot, or any of the new arrivals really, were miserable because things were the way they were. It wasn't easy, and she remembered the feelings of hopelessness when everything you worked for was simply taken from you in a flash, but being miserable wasn't going to help anyone. Least of all the people miserable. "I'm glad things are working out," she said, the truth of the statement clearly heard in her voice.
"It does, doesn't it?" she remarked on the food. "Savannah is great when it comes to cooking of any kind. I try to help her when she needs it, but usually she's good at making people do what she wants."
She nodded at his questions. "Of course," she said happily. "Well not with me today, but I can go and get them later and give them to you, or you can come and see for yourself. I have some history books as well that you can borrow until you've had some time to look around for some of your own."
