"Thank you, Director." G took the seat with a nod. It had been a long flight back and an even longer couple of days before that and the only thing he really wanted to do was fall into bed for another round of pretending to sleep while Sam slept. But, he could hardly refuse to report to Vance, even if that's what he wished he'd done as soon as he saw their newest arrival was already there. G had been hoping he'd get back to New York and find Robert Adams had been a mass hallucination of the sort he'd once suspected Abby's visions of being.
This was certainly not what he'd wanted to be dealing with as soon as he got back.
"Sir?" G hesitated a moment before holding out his hand. Shaking hands with his boss was one thing. But, this wasn't that sort of request, or Vance wouldn't have waited until G also was sitting down. It was only because he did trust the man as far as the job was concerned that he hesitated instead of refusing outright. Or, maybe it was more that he trusted Hetty and she was right there. The woman would do what she had to in order to get a job done. But, that had never included throwing G to the wolves. "What's happened?"
