"Smart girl," G teased. "I'm sure we'll have plenty to talk about."
Oh, but how much of his life was a lie? It was different for G. He couldn't accept there was nothing real that could come from the lies. If he did, he wouldn't have much left. "I did call it love. It wasn't what I have now and I may have loved a lie, the marriage was a lie. But, the feelings were real."
Holding her close, he rested his cheek on top of her head. "I don't know of it's possible to be with someone, to be that close, and not change who you are. We're different people when we're alone than when we have someone there beside us. I would never ask Sam to change for me. But, I've changed for him, because of him. And he's changed for me, whether I've asked it of him or not. If it doesn't feel right, then it's likely the wrong change or the wrong person. But, I don't know if it's possible to remain exactly who we are and still open up like that to another person. The changes should make you happy, though. It doesn't mean much if you regret it."
