Neal chuckled when Parker rolled her eyes and decided that she was all right. There was a weird kind of honor amongst thieves, it seemed. Or at least amongst the ones that weren't batshit insane.
"I could," he agreed. "But then that would make affairs like this much more intolerable. I don't like lingering over sad events. I've spent more than enough time in my life doing it," he said, thinking of Kate and how much he had obsessed after her death. Every detail, every moment, it had all been to find out what had happened and why. Even now, he didn't know who was behind it.
"Really? Depends. I'm sure I could fake knowing enough about wine or food without tasting it but I... Like the finer things in life. Always have," he said with a small shrug. "Nobody does what we do if they're happy with what they've got, right?"
