G chuckled. "Very sure. I'm not making myself the guilty party by acknowledging the responsibility. There may be regrets. But, that's just life." How much good he was doing, he couldn't say. And, maybe he was hard on himself, pushed himself further than he'd push anyone else. But, someone had to do it and he would never ask less of himself than he asked of others. "We'll see."
Taking a breath, G tucked a finger under her chin. "I will never tell you to go against your principles. And I can't tell you how much is too much to compromise. But, believe me when I say that if the love is real, it will still be there in a year or two. I'm not saying wait that long. Just, don't give up too soon. Patience can be rewarded." He couldn't help thinking about how long Sam had waited for him, how much stronger that steadfastness had made G's faith in the two of them. But, that was something she would have to learn for herself.
"If it becomes yours, yes, you get to decorate it."
