She almost offered to talk slower again, but then stopped herself. She'd never thought about the way she spoke. She decided to ignore it though, as he went on.
"Rifles remind me of my father," she said. "A gun, that reminds me of- There was a massacre at the hospital. I look at a gun I remember the gunman pointing it at me or shooting my friends. It's not as bad as it used to be, but I still get reminded of what happened that day."
She nodded when he suggested that she'd come over tomorrow. "I can come over tomorrow, that would be wonderful, thank you."
