April wasn't one to normally think of her age much, who had time for that? Today however she was. As of yesterday, she was 29 years old and one year closer to thirty. They'd had a small birthday dinner at the house, just Peter, Neal, Mikey and Savannah who had brought a cake. It had been nice, even if it wasn't the birthday she had imagined a year ago.
She smiled as she watched the game and people talking. This wasn't the life she'd chosen, and she still wanted to go home as fast as possible, but as time went by, she found herself adjusting more and more, and gaining some friends along the way.
Picking up a beer, she stepped into the group of people, intent on talking to more of them.
