Re: Sean and Mike
Sean chuckled. "It probably sounds more impressive than it is. But, thanks." Piano was a common factor for most music students. Many of them started with piano at home or woodwinds at school. Sean had done both. No reason to be good at something if you weren't going to do your best to excel at it. "I like Jesu. It's calming. There's this new thing, I don't know if they have it here. But, at home, there's a rising trend in this music called Steampunk. I guess Steampunk's been around for years in literature and media. But, it's just becoming popular in music, combining older styles like classical and ragtime with newer styles or rock and punk. Some of it's a bit cacophonous. But, some of it's got a real unique groove. Music here, seems to have evolved similarly. Some movements lasted longer, others shorter. But, contemporary music doesn't seem too different."
He nodded as Westen went on about Savannah and training. "Yeah, I've already talked to Savannah about that and she's helping me find a fighting style that'll do the job without risking the hands. I love Django Reinhart. But, I'd rather use his techniques to play by choice, not necessity."
The suggestion of a performance had Sean grinning. "Point me to an audience and I'll perform," he replied, chuckling. "I'm not sure anyone would really be interested. But, If they were, I'd be happy to oblige. Savannah might have named herself my manager back at day one after my arrival, starting off with that same suggestion. It's too bad no one else seems to have an interest. We do this thing in the Residence Hall during parties, where a few people would sit around with a guitar and drums and just jam, draw in some singers, other musicians. Sometimes the dancers and actors would join in. It was fun."
