Re: Sam/Jenna
"As long as you can do that, then we have no problem." Sam would have to talk to G, make sure they were on the same page there. As long as she listened to him, they would be fine, because Sam trusted G implicitly, and especially when it came to the kids. They might take crazy risk, but not when the kids were involved.
"No one really does, not until you've lived through it," he said. "We're not supposed to like war. We aren't supposed to get that adrenaline rush. We aren't supposed to live on the edge all the time. Society tells us all these things that we shouldn't do, and then you go there, and there are new rules, and you do all those things that you shouldn't be doing, and when you come up, the people around you don't understand. The only ones that are other men and women who were in combat, and then you spend more time with them, and realize that there's nothing wrong with that. You haven't had the chance to do that. You haven't dealt with the nightmares or with the panic attacks when you wake up and your M4 isn't there. Slowly, you will, and when that happens, you come and get me, and we sit together until it gets better, and with time, the nightmares don't wake you up." He wouldn't lie and say that they went away, but she'd be able to control them.
