Re: Savannah/Marty
"I do my best every day to be even a little bit as accomplished as you are." Marty assured her with a grin, "I'll just need a little time to catch up to you." He grinned when she giggled, glad to hear her laughing and see her smiling. "Frisbee is a game, it's not really a sport - it's just something fun to do. Though some people try to make it a sport, have you ever played Ultimate frisbee? It's a bit like football actually."
"I care about things." Marty told her, "I just pick what it is that I care about and what it is I let affect me. Part of it is just me being that guy that everyone knew before coming here, but part of it is just that there are times when I'm serious, when I know it's important then I let myself get worked up over it. When it's not though I just let anything else slide right off." He shrugged. He'd never seen the point in letting himself get upset over the little things, over the things he couldn't change, or taking life too seriously. Especially in his line of work. He saw so much death - was responsible for so much death - that affecting a laid back attitude about life was his way of keeping those two parts of his life separate. "You don't have to be like that though, that's not who you are. I know that. And I don't expect you to suddenly take everything with a grain of salt the way I do.
Marty laughed. "How about we try something you'll enjoy just a little more than napping in ugly uniforms if we're going to try something for fun?"
"You'll have to tell me about all the scheming that goes on in the politics of football one of these days." He chuckled - he didn't see how it was important to them now, or why he needed to know, but it wouldn't hurt to know. "A nice guy who looks hot." Marty repeated her arching an eyebrow at her, glad she'd tacked on that he was hotter. "You're just trying to get a rise out of me aren't you?" He grinned against her lips kissing her again.
