"Maybe," she answered, taking a deep breath. "How can people make it through college and not play football? Seriously? That's just ridiculous. And then they say I'm sheltered."
She nodded. "I did, and they really stopped because of me and Tim, didn't they? We were just playing. They should have told us that they wanted to play like a bunch of retired people. We could have played baseball for that." Now that was a boring sport. You could take naps during the game and it wouldn't matter.
Savannah sighed, but she was smiling again. No matter how upset she got, it was impossibly to stay upset with him when he was in this mood, joking like nothing wrong could ever happen. "You're so silly sometimes," she said, returning the kiss. "He's a football player, they know how to minimize the damage, but I'm sure you did a lot more dangerous work than whatever damage might happen on the field."
