Re: John and Mike
After Thursday, John was going to owe Brian big time. But, as much as the day had sucked, it had helped to finally get all the emotions out he'd had bottled up inside for months, since even before Riley, back to Bledell and Derek's story of how the man died saving John in the future. That was when he'd started to wall it up, tried not to feel. And, the days since J-Day had been better. He'd always known they might not stop the holocaust. He needed to focus on doing what he had to here in order to get back and do what he had to there.
The resolve wasn't gone, just the weight of it.
After church and football, which he hadn't completely sucked at the way he'd thought he would since so much of the strategy could paralleled war and chess in some strange ways, he was feeling more his usual self. Even managed a nod and polite smile when Westen approached him.
"Sure," he said after a moment's hesitation. He'd been pretty sure after the meeting at Hanna and Callen's he was never going to hear from Westen about those ideas. "Anytime Peter doesn't have me doing research for him is probably fine." It wasn't like he did anything with his time off other than research of a more clandestine nature, anyway.
