He had been asking himself that very question since he had arrived here. "You'll get a lot of fancy terms from the scientists, but as far as I can tell, they know as much as we do, which means they have no clue other that their nifty project isn't working."
He looked at the other man. "They end up in our place. One of my employees arrived and said that I had resigned, but I was also seen. I'm assuming that they are containing the new arrivals, just like we are. It's the logical conclusion."
