It was a sign of his childhood that he didn't even pay attention to all the medals and insignia. They were there, he ignored them, it was all good, but at least she seemed to enjoy talking about the house.

"You know, I haven't thought about it that way. I had a house at home one that I picked, but growing up, we lived on post so I never got used to the idea of 'picking' your house. You go were the Army sends you. As long as there's room and the yard is kept up to regulations, you're good to go."
Dom could tell that she thought that it would never happen, but then she felt like a princess, so she probably thought that all ops were like this. "Hopefully you won't," he said. The moment that she was on the field, it'd mean that they were all on the run, and every op was a way to survive. It wouldn't be nice.
