Re: Eric and Parker
She nodded firmly when he decided not to argue with her about her state of relaxedness - because she was most definitely relaxed as much as any person like her could ever be relaxed in a place filled with people who would normally turn her over to any number of government agencies without a second thought.
Cool as a cucumber.
"If small things are different the whole is different." Parker told him, pulling paper from glass, slowly to keep from ripping it while she spoke. "The whole of something is made up of details - when details change the whole changes. Like when you're sailing down an elevator shaft and suddenly the elevator car is on the 14th floor instead of the 16th and you have to adjust for twenty more feet even though you only brought enough for the initial jump. It's the details that matter." She told him shrugging, you had to adjust and then climb back up the wires to the cords and pray some idiot didn't decide to turn on the elevator while you were working and figure out how to pry open the doors without the proper leverage. Details changed everything.
She turned to look at him then, seeing the way he grinned at her and narrowing her eyes, like this was all some sort of joke to him or he was understanding something she had missed. "The bop bop thing? I leave that to the music."
