RP: John and April
Who: John Connor and April Kepner
Where: Outside the Morgue
When: Wednesday, March 23, 2011 -- after lunch
Summary: John needs to borrow a few notes.
John wanted a cyborg companion to do his homework. Or, at least, to take notes for him in class after letting Brian talk him into staying up all freakin' night. Wasn't there a rule somewhere that said teenagers needed more sleep than adults? Eighteen still counted, right? It was actually worse than breaking into crime scenes in the middle of the night with his mom. Sarah Connor never let her son stay up until past dawn.
And John had refused to be the kid who stayed up all night partying and slept through class the next day. He'd forced himself to stay awake, consuming way more caffienated soda before noon than any human being ought to consume in a week. Unfortunately, staying awake and taking coherent notes were not the same thing at all. He'd pushed himself through the physical training, knowing he was off his game but figuring someone out to kill you wouldn't stop just because you didn't sleep. If he could run on a busted knee, he could train on lack of sleep. But, his notes from the discussions on undercover work before that were...
Well, his notes sounded like what he imagined a triple eight's thoughts would sound like as you shut the power down. Lots of key words jumbled together with little logic to them.
This was why he was waiting for April outside the morgue before lunch was over. After spending his lunch hour trying to piece together those notes with the notes from the morning and what he'd managed to read after sleeping for ten hours after work -- and getting nothing intelligible -- he gave up. April's notes had been a lifesaver when he first got there. Maybe she'd be nice and let him borrow them again. He didn't have access to the morgue, but hopefully he could catch her before she disappeared inside.
"Hey," John said with a smile, as he saw her approach. "Got a minute?"
