"There is no guarantee for that though, so I suppose we should stop thinking of it as such and just-" she paused. "Accept that this might be forever."
She too looked back at Eve, even if it meant turning uncomfortably in the seat. "At least here she won't have to hide who she is. No lies, no pretence. She can be her true potential here." As if answering her mother's thoughts, Eve made the stuffed toy she had with her float into the air. The bell inside the pink car chimed as she let it move back and forth. "At least with this group she won't have to learn not to do that," she said, scratching Cody behind the ears before telling him to lay down.
