He smiled. "I... I'm trying not to. You know before coming here, I wasn't really using anymore, just once in a while, trying to impress a girl, Oliver's ex. It hit me like a freight train when we got here, but it was more than physical. It was knowing that I couldn't that made it worse. I'm starting to get to the point where it's not the first thing I think when things get hard. I know a joint is nothing, but... it's a crutch." Not that the bottle he was handing TJ wasn't, but at least that wasn't his addiction of choice.
Tommy shook his head. "No pain, no shortness of breath, nothing that can't be related to turning violet." He took a sip from his bottle and sighed. "The idea of just trying to change and let my body lead sounds too much like Star Wars than real life."
