Savannah loved the picnics even if there was very little grass here. Then again, it sort of looked like West Texas, so she could pretend that she was back home visiting relatives.
She had a king size sheet she used just for the picnics and she spread it around as usual. She set up the bags for the kids in a corner and then she walked around or sat down entertaining, because that's really what these afternoons were about.
She smiled at Travis as he and TJ made their way over. "Hey, you two, come and sit down." Travis needed to walk to regain lung capacity, but he couldn't overdo it either. She'd rather have him close by in case something happened, and really TJ needed people who were there for them just because, even if he still looked at her funny when she offered to help. Of course, that meant that sooner rather than later, Doug made his way too.
She looked at them grinning. "I never thought I'd have two sets of twins."
Travis chuckled. "But one set talks way more than the others."
Savannah chuckled. "I don't think the girls need to talk. They sort of... read each other's minds." It was only the fact that Marty assured her that it had nothing to do with superpowers that allowed her to joke.
"At least you feed us," Doug said, looking at their mother who was talking to their father like the fate of the world depended on them.
