Re: Savannah/John
"I'm sure he'll forgive you when he sees how happy you are." John was laughing more in one conversation that he usually did in weeks and she didn't think it was just her company even if she was amazing company. "You still should do something. A party I mean, even a little one, next week, build the memories, with pictures since I doubt there were pictures when it was just the two of you."
Savannah cupped his cheeks for just a moment before hugging him again. "I won't make it painful, because he makes you happy, not because you won't let me," she said as she pulled back.
The snort was immediate. "We did plan a wedding together. That was pretty much a daily observation, but there were others, depending on his mood, how bored he was and how much he wanted to amuse himself. Instead of waiting for his birthday, plan a celebration for this wedding, even if it's just a few friends, and if nothing happens for his birthday, we'll have a party then too." Planning too far in advance never seemed to work, and even she had stopped, leaving things for a week or two before. "I'm glad you figured it out. It's not easy. I don't think it's meant to be easy. Relationships are hard no matter how much you love each other, getting two people with different personalities to compromise is difficult enough, but it's usually when people are hurt the most and need the most support that they are most likely not to receive that help because the other person is hurt too. You can give up or fight to make it work, but you're a fighter. You'll always find a way to make it work."
