Re: Brian and Mike
Mike shrugged. "It's what I know. Same as you. We grew up, we made our choices, we all end up here, thrown together." He stretched his arms in Brian's direction. "And I get m own Jedi Master who's going to teach me about fun and cars. You do know about Jedi Masters, right? Because if you don't, we seriously need to spend some time in front of a ... oh wait, no computer. We'll have to steal John's. Actually, I'm pretty sure Brian's is easier. I distract him, you steal it, how does that sound?"
He laughed. "And if you were gay, I'd be really lucky, but alas, I'm only somewhat lucky."
Listening to people was one of the things he had learned to do. The facts were important, because he already had a good idea of the situation there, but listening to what Brian chose to explain was telling about the man. "Sounds to me like Dom provided a sense of justice, more than right or wrong that LAPD wasn't giving you, but not all PDs are like that, and not all agents are like the ones you know. Are you okay with working with so many agents, though? It can't be easy, a little twitching here and there, maybe watching Deeks and Travis together, listening to all the talk about Brothers in Blue, and families." He'd seen how Deeks and Savannah had helped with Travis and Thomas. Not that they weren't the types to help anyone, but this felt different, felt more personal. "I'm not offering a family like Savannah, but maybe a possible future friend, someone to watch your back."
