"John said we're going home." He wasn't sure what else there was to discuss. John believed they had a way home, and Derek took him at face value. He wasn't sure why he should be questioning the possibility that they weren't. John wouldn't lie to him about this, and he trusted John's understanding when it came to the tech.
Derek shook his head. "No, we're not clear. I still don't get why you're so upset. You wanted to do something; I did what you said. That should make you happy. If you wanted the memories, then you have the memories. If you did it for me, then why not ask me what I wanted? I might not want willing, but that should be my choice."
There were just too many words and words were too often used to hide things, confuse them. Derek was a lot more straight forward. Even his silence said more than all of the rambling these people did. "I have no problem asking people to stay with us so that we can use their powers. I'm not asking you." That seemed simple enough as far as he was concerned. "Good night."
