"Good, so let's not all it a date." He wasn't interested in technicalities, or dates. Derek groaned as she went on. "I just said it once and I wish I'd never mentioned it, considering how many times I've heard it thrown back at me."
Derek didn't know why they were even doing this. His birthday wasn't for days. This vacation was supposed to be a birthday gift even if he didn't want it. Tomorrow there was some kind of party, he also didn't want. Scratch that, he knew why they were doing, even if they were wrong.
"I know. You're playing babysitter. We've spent more time together today than in the past month combined, but you know, I'm not going to shoot someone else if you leave me alone. I've managed to go for months without shooting someone. As long as there's no more surprise music, I'm fine, and even if there is, I'll probably be fine then too," he said with a shrug, because he couldn't guarantee it.
He shook his head. "No need to now that we've finished dinner. And you're not torturing me. I know what torture is. This doesn't even come close. This is just unnecessary."
