"So, you're saying I seem to take after him?" Huffing softly, he tilted his head so he could look up at Brian. "I know you're right. I just...if that had been almost any house but Travis', I'd have lost him again. I don't want to lose him again. You might have noticed I don't accept losing people I love very well. I'll try to back off a little, though. But, I'm not giving up on him as too damaged, not yet. I can't."
Still, he couldn't worry too much about Derek just then because there wasn't a lot of room left for worry when he had Brian there making him this happy. He chuckled and hugged Brian back tightly. "Were those Catholic vows? I was just following your lead," he admitted, unabashed. "I didn't realize the Catholic vows included promises of lots of fucking." He couldn't seem to stop smiling and he squeezed Brian's fingers between his. "We are changing, but we're changing together and I'm glad it's you who I'm changing with, word or no words." And maybe it wasn't the way anyone else would do things, but this was for them and they had never had to make a big deal out of their relationship. They knew where they stood and the others would catch up eventually. Bringing their hands up to kiss the back of Brian's, John grinned once more. "Sounds like a perfect plan to me."
