John laughed. "Oh, well, if that's the man who told you, I suppose he'd know. Of course, he thinks I'm boring anyway," he teased, matching Brian's grin with one of his own, "so I don't know if that's much of a change."
With Brian's arm around him, he could shift a little closer. You'd think he'd be used to Brian's form of flattery by now. But, nope. There was still the faintest prickle of heat at the back of his neck. "Celebration enough for me," he agreed, sighing softly. He chuckled. "Nell's date is turning into spending the whole day together tomorrow if she gets her way. I talked to her this morning. She's got horseback riding and a picnic and hot air balloons and dinner. She says she needs to make up for the date she wanted to take him on at the school. I didn't ask about the fucking. I don't want to know. Definitely too weird to think about Derek and sex. But, a celebration Sunday sounds good, something normal."
Taking the champagne with a smile, he tilted his head to brush a kiss along Brian's jaw. "I think I can appreciate a little just us time."
