Re: Doug and Maura
"Are we assuming that he's in heaven and that one big designer atelier? Because that's possibly the best image of heaven I've ever heard," he said, laughing. They weren't religious, unless it looked good to go to whatever service, but he could support a religion based on high quality clothes.
Doug nodded. "He is." He didn't add that TJ would likely forget while not distracted. TJ could only concentrate on one thing: himself, and now on Travis, but Doug knew that was just a corollary of the former, since Travis gave TJ the attention he sought. "It's so good that TJ is gay and you're married to me," he said with a snort. "Emotional roller coasters are a specialty of this family, and we don't even need the surgeries for that. Luckily for you, I skipped the gene for the dramatics."
There was another nod. "I'm sure TJ will do his best," he answered diplomatically. Even with the drugs in his possession, TJ was ... well, he was TJ, which meant that Doug was already thinking about what he'd have to do for his brother and Travis. "We will all help. I'm sure there are volunteers anyway."
Chuckling, he agreed with her. "You can be a vampire, and I'm not. I'm very simple. When I get my hands dirty, it's about politics. Although if you cut my veins, you might not find red, but a copy of the constitution. See? Very simple. You're welcome."
