Re: Marty and Leon
"Something like that. He had a flashback of some kind. Sounds like he could hear Thomas playing and it triggered him, sent him back into whatever Hell he's lived through. He came through the door and surprised them. Travis took the hit, probably protecting Thomas if that was truly the source of the trigger." Marty sighed. It was a mess was what it was. The shooter was as much a victim as the man he shot, despite what Thomas thought. And, still, Marty could absolutely understand Thomas' position, too. He doubted he'd be very forgiving if it had been Savannah with a bullet in her.
He nodded his agreement over Robert's behavioral changes, slightly amused at the thought he and Vance might actually be thinking along the same lines. "He has been." Sitting forward, Marty rested his elbows on his knees. "Maura seems to have things under control with Robert helping her. He's taking up the people she needs now. Blood donors, mostly, although she's asked for Matt and April, Nell and Troy, too. As I'm sure you heard, I'm going to drive up there when we're done. I'll take Brian, too. We'll need two cars to bring the number of people back Robert's taking up there. Anticipating Maura's needs, we might want to consider setting up a bed for Travis and planning on having a few people up there for a while. I'm sure Maura will want to keep him close to where the equipment is for a few days until we know he's out of the woods. And she'll need to be on hand. We'll need a crowbar to pry Thomas away from his side and there should probably be someone up there to remind both of them to sleep and eat.
"Other than that, I think we assist best by getting things squared away down here. I don't think we'll have to worry about local PD showing up. But, we need people to put on a show of normality for the neighbors. And we need to see to Derek, as well as consider damage control after the second-in-command shoots a member of the team."
