"Thank you." Maura took the x-ray and set it aside. She needed to get those tubes in him now. "Before you go, I need you hold his shoulders. I don't know if this is going to be enough to bring him back to consciousness and it's going to hurt like...well, a lot, if he does."
While Robert moved into position, she again swabbed Travis' skin with disinfectant. She needed to cut the ends off the first tube to make it easier on Travis when she inserted it. Then she made a short, precise incision in his left side, just below the ribcage, low enough gravity would help the blood drain out. She took a beat and then pushed the end of the tube inside and began taping it in place.
"That's good. Thank you. Tim Riggins and the Director are also matches." Sitting back a moment to wait and see how Travis' body reacted, she looked up at Robert with a wry expression. "Thomas, you mean. His parents don't care enough to be affected. I know the risk, Robert. But, it's more important we get two people here now. He needs blood or we're going to lose him. I don't care which two you bring me as long as they get here. And bring Nell with Casey. If she can help get the bullet out without surgery, it'll be best for Travis. I'll know more once I see with the x-rays. But, I don't need help with that. Just bring me two people willing to help me keep him alive."
