April chuckled. "That's true, this group is lost without you. That I've seen for myself. They need you to remind them that they're still human," she added with a smile.
She bit her tongue at the second chance part, settling for smiling. She didn't have the same optimistic views on things. "How many new people have arrived?" she asked. "What are they like?"
When she mentioned Jenna and Eric she nodded. "I gathered that they did from the photos you sent," April said softly. She had never been close with the woman, never truly understood her, but she knew Eliot liked her and she knew how much she'd meant to Savannah. "I'm sorry, I know Jenna meant a lot to you. How is Dom and Sean holding up? Does Sam know?" She looked at Eve. She couldn't begin to imagine how horrid it would be to lose her daughter.
"I can't wait to meet your son, by the way," she said. "How did the delivery go? I'm glad you didn't tell me sooner in a way, I would have worried sick about not being able to be there for you. Not that I needed to do much with the girls."
