Summary: Leon warns the missing three

Leon stared at the screen. He refused to give details in an email. Then again, he refused to give details to his people. He wasn't about to share with three people who left the group. Then again, the fact that he was contacting them in the first place should tell them how serious the matter was and if they still didn't understand... oh well, they would have done their duty. With that in mind, he typed the very simple message.

From: Leon Vance
To: April Kepner, Eliot Spencer, Nate Ford
Subject: New Info

Living in this dimension has become extremely unsafe. We will be leaving asap. If you want in, this is the time.

April's first instinct when reading the email was no. After the last confrontation she had no desire to return to live under the whim of Vance, and she knew without asking that the same could be said for Eliot and Nate. Especially for Eliot.

Her second reaction was wondering what Vance had done to put them all in danger. She did not doubt that he was speaking the truth, because Vance had no reason to contact them otherwise and if he it was just a matter of wanting them back he had the means to force them.

The question was, how dangerous was extremely unsafe?

Knowing there was nothing she could do right now, April went about her day, taking care of her daughter and preparing dinner while waiting for Eliot to come home. When he did, she wasn't surprised to see that he had brought Nate.

"So what do you make of it?" she asked without preamble. There was no reason to delay this conversation, dinner on the other hand could wait for a little while.

"It sounds like things have been fucked up for us," Eliot growled, slapping the laptop lid shut. "We ain't done nothing to get on anyone's radar. That means someone screwed up on their-" He cut off abruptly. They wouldn't risk contact if the government had been onto the group or had attacked them, causing them to scatter. If they were being contacted, it was much, much worse.

He looked at April, demeanor changing from one of pissed off to that of concern. "What if one of them got caught?"

"They'd leave because of that?" April asked, she wasn't sure but she had a feeling this was much worse than that. "Even more, they'd warn us because of that? How many people do you think know where we are? He'd have no reason to warn us from that."

Nate hadn't said anything so far, thinking it over, but he had to agree with both of their assessment. "Vance made it very clear that he wants nothing to do with any of us, if he contacts us it means it's bad."

"And yes, it's either on their end or on the government's. If it was us, we wouldn't be alive to have this conversation, or alternatively we would be hauled back against our will."

"Regardless of why, and we're never going to get to the why, we need to decide. Take our chances or go back?"

"Vance did say we weren't going to get an invitation when they left. For him to change his mind..." Eliot shook his head. It was right that the wouldn't get a why, one of the many annoyances they had to put up with, with the group.

He rested his hands on the back of a chair. "They aren't going to want us there, 'cept maybe Savannah. It won't matter that our choice to leave was based on your pregnancy and the conditions we were told about. The deal with the serial killer put us more on their shit list, I'm sure."

Nate would deal with whatever was thrown at him, but Eliot didn't know about April. "What do you think, April? I don't want to put Eve purposely in danger."

"We don't have a choice," April answered as she stepped up to Eliot and placed a hand on his face. "We have to protect Eve."

"We can deal with anything if we're together. Don't worry about the others, they can shun us all they want. As long as we have each other, we'll be fine."

"I suppose I won't get to see Europe in this world after all," Nate snorted from behind them, because it was one thing he knew and that was that he was going with these two. The danger didn't scare him, to be honest he couldn't really bring himself to care about himself enough to worry about it, but Eliot was family and so was Eve.

"Okay, then. Well dinner is just about ready, Eliot why don't you answer Vance and Nate and I'll set the table and then you'll join us. We'll start packing up once we've eaten."

	Eliot kissed April on the forehead. He hated this, but he'd do anything he could to keep his family safe. "All right."
