The day before had been spent doing more catching up with Sean, trying to get her feet under her. Both mornings after her 'arrival', Tamira woke wondering where she was and why the world felt wrong. Then she remembered she somehow managed to end up in an alternate universe where there were super powers and her daughter was dead. It was that last part that made everything feel wrong. She'd worried the entire time Jenna was deployed only to lose her this way, without even knowing it had happened.
A picnic in the park seemed almost surreal after everything. But, getting out in the sunshine would do her some good.
Not that there was much of that to be had. At least the rain was staying south of them.
"I remember when Sean was one of the kids playing," she told Savannah, sitting beside her and watching the three children in question for a moment. She couldn't imagine raising her kids through this. "Of course, that also feels like it was only yesterday, instead of almost a quarter century ago. He was telling me about putting together music for them. Seems my son has a bit of a paternal streak he never knew he had before."
