When Vance told them about the new arrival, he was grinning. He didn't even care that it was five in the morning, because Deeks didn't get to have all the fun. It was Sunday, and the man got to stay at home and play the dad, while Derek got to do something really fun.
He got his team, but John took O'Conner's place since the man was still incapacitated from Friday. It was the natural choice. Not only he trusted John and they had worked together in the past, but they'd have their tech right there with them. Derek might not like computers, but he trusted John with them.
The approaches were getting less and less sophisticated. Just pick them up, talk to them and then bring them home or let them go, which meant that the tranquillizers were not very long lasting, but it was easy to shoot, sit closer, wait for the person to fall asleep and then move her. Derek really loved shooting!
This wasn't any different. One shot and they had the woman. They drove back to the airport and sat on the plane until she woke up.
