G's only response was to smirk and drop his eyes down Sam's body briefly before looking up again.
And Emily hid a smile before shaking her head at Sam. "It's not the historical veracity of the tools I'm questioning, but their effectiveness in getting this particular job done. I've seen the displays in a few museums in a few different countries. But, there's very little evidence to suggest they did anything more with the caves than live in the ones that nature had already made, that's all I'm saying. If we're going to try modern engineering with neolithic technology, we just need to be cautious about it."
The pause wasn't lost on any of them, but G was the one who's demeanor shifted. It was slight, barely noticeable, but the overall sense of guarding his people was visible in his straighter stance, even if he continued to trade comments with everyone. "Why would I want to ride something that's smaller than me? Do you know how disappointing it is to see the real thing and realize it's barely my height, slimmer, and only half as smart? Not to mention the fact I can now outrun it? No challenge."
"Yes, follow Sam," Emily encouraged, reaching out with one hand to give him a nudge toward the car. "Before you encourage Derek any further and I'm forced to smack you both." Turning to Derek, she smiled and kissed his cheek. "If Hotch were here, you'd give him grey hairs talking like that. Just remember that I'm not Penelope and this isn't an ambulance with a bomb on it. You scare the crap out of me, I can and will kick your butt six ways from Sunday."
G let the profilers' conversation fade to the background as he followed Sam. While a part of him was fine joking about sex with the others, the part of this scenario where he and his partner went off for a 'private talk' and everyone knew it was for sex was a little too close to the 'over-sharing' boundary for comfort. "You know the ones we call velociraptors aren't the actual velociraptors, right? Prentiss told me the guys who did the movie gave the name to the raptors' larger cousin. Turns out she's a bit of a science fiction nerd and has read -- and fact checked -- most of the author's books." Sitting at the point of the car farthest from where they'd left Prentiss and Morgan, he looked at Sam. "So, which part did you want to discuss?"
