Re: John and Dom
"I don't know. A broken or damaged connection can be fixed with a hug or a smile, when it reestablishes that connection." Maybe that was why he hadn't thought of Cameron as much as he'd been remembering Riley since he got here? A machine couldn't connect in the same way. "Oh, I know the reasons. It sounds pretty similar to that -- losing that connection, any connections we make here. But, what's the alternative? Never connecting? Nothing lasts forever. People come and go in life really quickly and we can either connect while we can, or lose that piece of humanity forever." Even when you connected, you still lost pieces forever.
John laughed at the idea of light reading. "Enjoy might not be the right word. But, it's necessary." He smirked. "And, you'll have to bring over games. There aren't any at the house. I suck at them."
Watching the man look around the room, John bit his lip, not wanting to say too much that couldn't be explained. But, he knew what that feeling was like, seeing the people who had died for you alive again, seeing someone you knew who you actually didn't. Although, he couldn't say which seemed worse -- when they didn't know you at all, or they knew a different you the way you knew a different them. Or, knowing they were alive and not being able to see them. "It is strange. Difficult, too, I imagine."
