"No one?" And in a second her attention shifted. Oh she'd still talk to G at first chance about this conversation, but right now she felt mostly sorry for Parker. What was it about people here? So many of them seemed to have no family to speak of.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have asked," she said. "I keep doing that, assuming that people have a family. I should know by now not to ask." She still thought it horrible to have no one to miss, and couldn't imagine living like that. Even here, when or if they went home, there would be people she'd miss.
