John and Dom
The gathering at the Team Center that afternoon amused John in much the same way as the questionnaire of Savannah's that had outed him to her as from a different dimension. College hadn't been even a blip on his radar since 2007, when he realized he was too close to J-day to worry about more than finishing high school as part of his cover of being a normal kid. College basketball? Sports in general? Not something he'd thought about at all until coming here. So, everyone gathering with four games on four televisions was a little unreal.
But, he'd learned a long time ago it was easier to stay separate from everyone if you pretended to be participating. Usually they left you alone so long as you looked like you were paying attention to whatever was going on -- pep rallies, english class, etc.
Grabbing a soda as he came in, messenger bag back on his shoulder, book in hand, he scanned the room for an out of the way place to settle in and get some reading done. A lot of the seating near the actual games was taken, but there was a spot on one sofa off to the side and only one of the newer agents, Vail, occupied it. Heading over John smiled a little before indicating one corner of the sofa. "Hey, mind if I steal a seat while I read?"
