Re: Savannah/Marty
"It was never a problem." He reminded her with a grin, recalling that conversation - at least things weren't quite so heated at the moment. He chuckled when she admitted to being more of a fan of football and cheerleading that basketball. "Hey now, basketball is a real sport." He said poking her side.
This was good though at the end of the day to have his team playing and Savannah in his lap and just everything being just a bit easier.
He tilted his head letting his attention be taken from the game when Savannah sat up trying to decide how she'd felt about the afternoon spent out running security for the parade, looking for something to go wrong constantly. "I can get it for you." He told her and shrugged. "I mean this is what I do, and it's what I've wanted to do for a long while, but that doesn't mean I expect this to be your life's calling too." He told her, maybe he wanted something more for her than just staying at home chasing after kids or something, but that her heart wasn't in this particular profession wasn't exactly surprising.
"I think there are plenty of us who didn't really want to be out there today." He told her, he wished briefly that he could assure her this wasn't forever but even he wasn't quite optimistic enough for that just yet - if it wasn't this it was running and that was close enough to what Savannah had described not to make much of a difference.
