If things hadn't been enough after Jenna's death, now he was adjusting to having a 'wife'. Nell tried, she really did, and she might not have been an agent, but she knew how to play the game. The problem was that Blaze didn't. He didn't like her, or maybe and more likely, she wasn't familiar. She wasn't family.
At the safe house, it was easy enough, because they could be who they were, but at home, it was slightly different. Still Nell was smart enough to know that it was easier to give Blaze space, plenty of it. That left him with family and being Saturday morning, he expected Savannah to stop by, but instead it was Claudia.
He listened to her almost asking what the hell was wrong, but then he remembered her cover (and his surprise really showed how much attention he was paying to people instead of research). "Game?" It sounded absurd. He hadn't played since... since Jenna. He had no time, no inclination, no will. "I don't know, Claudia. I'm not exactly the best company at the moment, and there's Blaze."
