Tommy nodded. "I understand that, Oliver. Don't you think I'm scared too? Between the two of us, we don't have a single healthy relationship, romantic or otherwise. The closest we've come to a decent relationship is this friendship, and getting involved has the potential of screwing this up. Being afraid isn't irrational. I understand all about wanting to protect yourself and our friendship. What do you think I've been doing? I don't stay away because it's easier, but because it's the only way I know to keep our friendship while I deal with my feelings."
