Summary: Robert takes the next step to get Savannah to stop training
Robert had stayed quiet on Monday to see if Savannah would stop with the demonstrations, which didn't happen. He didn't even want her to stop training completely, but slow down. Or teach without bending, lying down or carrying rifles that had to put a stress on her back. His discussion with Deeks had proved that he couldn't stop her anyway and now he was going up the chain of command before going to Vance.
The next step was the doctor. Normally, she would have been the first step, but Robert had decided that civilian doctors were idiots. First Bambi, and now this one. She sounded slightly better than Bambi, but then again, Bambi hadn't sounded like a babbling incompetent at the start. Still, he would go to her, if only to prove to Vance that they couldn't rely on civilians.
"Doctor, a word, please," he said only a few minutes before they would break for lunch. Not that he cared about taking her free time, but he wanted to make sure she understood that this was business. "Let's walk; it's private."
Despite manners, he led the way, making sure that they didn't step on any booby traps. He didn't trust her enough to follow etiquette. When they were away from the house, he stopped and gave her a polite smile. "For a moment, you almost made me believe that you were competent. That's a great accomplishment considering our previous experience, however your current behavior is making me wondering if you're any better than the other doctor. She was interested in feeling good. You seem interested in feeling smart, because you've done a lot of explaining, impressing Vance with all those tests, showing off all that you know, and yet you don't seem to care about the health of the people in thes team. Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but I was always under the impression that doctors became doctors to help people, not to stroke their egos, but if I'm wrong, please let me know and we can tell Vance that."
