RP: Robert and Savannah
Who: Robert and Savannah
Where: Safe house
When: Thursday, March 21, 2013
Summary: Robert is concerned about his 'niece'
Robert couldn't complain about this new sniper training It meant less time with the normal people, most of whom he didn't like. However, watching Savannah lay on her stomach or kneel down was becoming uncomfortable. He couldn't even imagine how much worse it had to be for her.
He waited until they finished today, making sure that he was one of the last so that he would have some privacy, before putting an arm around her shoulder.
"What do you need?" Savannah asked, laughing.
"Can't a man just want to spend some time with his favorite niece?" Robert answered with a smirk.
Savannah snorted. "Now, I really know you want something. You don't call me niece. Ever. I'm not even going to point out that I'm your only niece, so it's difficult not to be your favorite."
"You just did." Robert rolled his eyes. She was as bad as G, if not worse. "And I still don't need anything. I do want to make sure hat you're all right. Maybe you can stop with the demonstration, yes? Because soon we'll need a forklift to pick you up."
"Ah ah, very funny. I can still get up. It just takes me a little longer," Savannah answered.
"I'm not joking, Savannah. This is dangerous. If we were at the base, you'd be on desk duty. If we were in the military or any federal agency, you'd be on desk duty. If G were here-"
"G isn't here," Savannah answered back.
Robert sighed as he put his arms around her and kissed her forehead. "I know he's not, but you can't be him. He wouldn't want to, and even if he did, you can't, because you're a mother to two beautiful babies, which means that you are already working harder than most, and you're less than seven weeks away from giving birth."
"I can do this, Robert."
"I know you can, and you can do it in a few months-"
"We might not have a few months. We never thought that G would go missing, but he has. We don't have the luxury to wait until I give birth."
Robert let go and framed her face with his hands. He locked eyes with her. "You listen to me. You don't have to do anything. You've already done more than you should. Pushing yourself wouldn't make G happy. I know you miss him and you want to do what you think he'd want you to do, but this isn't the way, Savannah. He loves you above all and he wouldn't want you to risk your health or your child's." He didn't mention that G would probably do the same thing Savannah was doing, but Robert knew that he and his brother never did listen to the advice they gave others. "Promise me that you're going to take it easy from now on. No more super Savannah, no more dinners for everyone, no more extra lunches for men who can take care of themselves. We'll go back to the old system when we all cook for Sunday dinners, and listening to Troy, as long as we have beer, food is secondary. We'll get fast food and we'll help your husband with whatever you two need, but you need to slow down."
He wouldn't make it a threat, not yet, but he had every intention of talking to Deeks and if that wouldn't work, then Vance. He couldn't believe their doctor hadn't said anything either, but then again, considering past experience, he should know that these civilian doctors were useless. No, he wasn't going to wait for another doctor to fuck it up. He'd just have to speak with the man in question who happened to be the father-to-be, and if that didn't work... Robert could still kick Deeks' ass, before going to Vance, because he wasn't going to let Savannah or that baby get hurt under his watch. He'd never be able to look G in the eye otherwise.
