Re: Travis/TJ
TJ stretched a little, humming softly in pleasure at Travis' touch. He really was the hedonist his lover occasionally accused him of being. He liked things that brought pleasure. Drugs were on that list. Dancing at clubs. Playing his piano. Sex...and pretty much any excuse he could use to get Travis touching him. "You do," he told Travis with no trace of even attempted humility, though he was smiling too softly. "And I have the best man in this entire insane assembly as mine. I'd say we're even."
Chuckling at the admonition, TJ ran his hands along Travis' thighs. "But, this is an emergency. It's been almost twenty-three hours since we were last naked. Besides, we grab our bags like we're supposed to and I'll have clothes to put on later, when the bullets stop. And those clothes aren't going to stop bullets. Everything else is survivable until I can get dressed." He sighed quietly. "I miss Pittsburgh...and I really can't believe I'm actually saying that. Although, if he were here, we'd still be there. Playing nice is not about pretending to be nice, which I could do but no one but you and Doug would be able to trust a word I said. There's nothing wrong with being polite in order to keep things easy at work. I could be rude and brutally honest, but that accomplishes nothing. So...polite.
"And, what couldn't I have said? Look at how we've been living for the better part of the last month. Thirty people, babies, dogs, all sharing the floor of one room, unable to go too far out for fear of getting blown up, nothing even resembling a private moment. No one got told to shut their kid up before I gagged it. No one's parentage was compared to their dog's. No one was called out for their asshole behavior toward one of the few people I do actually like instead of tolerate. I didn't cheer out loud when we were told we were moving here to a place where we can wear something at least resembling style. Plenty I could have said and didn't."
He leaned in to meet Travis halfway for the kiss, looping his arms around Travis' waist. "Travis, breathe. I'm not saying I refuse to learn from anyone else. Just that you gave me the foundation they're building on. And I gave you my word to do whatever you need me to in order to get through this together, right? Worrying isn't going to fix any deficiencies in my knowledge or do anything other than give you wrinkles...and then we'd have to spend a fortune large enough to make you choke on creams to put this handsome face of yours back to rights."
