RP: Brian and Casey
Who: Brian O'Conner and Matt Casey
Where: Resort in Key West
When: Saturday, March 9, 2013
Summary: Roommates get better acquainted
If there was one thing Brian was not, it was a brooder. He didn't brush things off, but he fully believed that you played the hand life dealt you as best you could and let the chips fall where they may. Spending too much time thinking and playing 'what if' just meant you had less time to do something about what had gone wrong. He had goals. He had purpose. But, achieving them didn't mean shit if he was too busy thinking about them to enjoy everything else he had.
And at the moment, he had Key West.
The surfing in Key West sucked. Days when the swells got over two feet were rare unless a hurricane was coming. He'd have better luck in Miami. But, the resort had agreements with a rental place on the island and Brian could spend his day on the water with power between his legs or on his back. Jet skiing, wind surfing, snorkeling, scuba diving, and jet packs...it was awesome. If he had to be stuck in an alternate dimension, separated from his family, this was the way to do it. Of course, Mr. Would Rather Pace Than Sleep had reminded Brian he needed to opt for the buddy system, which rankled because he preferred being just him and the water out there. But, since he wasn't surfing, it wasn't as much of an issue. He'd found a willing buddy in Mike Weston. Even better, the man could keep up with him on the water.
The only reason he'd finally dragged himself back to land was because they had to get ready for the wedding this afternoon. Brian hadn't had to wear a suit since he turned his back on the FBI. At least they'd gone shopping before heading out here. He could pick up something that suited the Florida weather. He grabbed a shower first thing when he got back to the room he shared with Derek and Matt Casey, rinse the salt water off. Wrapping a towel around his waist, he came out to find Casey had returned to the room. "Hey, shower's free if you want it. You should get out on the skis with us tomorrow, man."
