Savannah didn't think that the conversation had gone exactly like that since they had talked a lot longer than that, but unlike men, she was good at translating from broody emotionally constipated men into proper English.
"Let's slow down a little bit more. You were talking about the move, and he said that you're friends and not lovers. Was this before or after you told him that you don't want to pretend to be in a relationship?" she asked.
"Because maybe, and I'm guessing here, since you're not really being clear, maybe he's wondering whether you want to be in a relationship. With him. Because that's what it sounds to me," she said, gently. "Maybe he's just upset because if you're comparing your relationship to a... well a marriage, then he might wonder what your feelings are." Or maybe she was wondering, but if she figured out what Oliver wanted, maybe she could figure out what Tommy wanted too.
