Summary: Leon makes plans for Saturday night

From: Leon Vance

Subject: Various

1) To celebrate Mr. Green and Mr. Baum's birthdays, we'll be going to LA for dinner on Saturday. In fact, we will go in the afternoon and get some shopping done since we will need to use civilian clothes once we move to our new housing.

2) If you need things from the island (other than furniture), let us know. At this point, there really shouldn't be anything there, but if you did leave something, this is the time, since we will start moving furniture starting Monday.

3) Since I've been asked about clubs since Halloween, John if you and Mr. Kinney feel up to the challenge, find me a place with no cameras, in a decent, gay friendly area, make a list of people, and I will consider letting you go on Saturday night

4) Mr. Hammond, see what you have to do with this piano, because I need out of the truck so that we can move real furniture.

Mr. Deeks,

Perhaps after dinner, you and Mr. Marks can take Green and take care of the problem we discussed, making sure all precautions are taken, while Mr. Reese stays with the group going to the club.

PS John, I know you keep an eye on Reese's emails. Make sure he reads this.

Derek did not understand the need for emails. They were in the same damn house. A simple let's go outside would have saved time, but no, everyone liked to take their phones out and read things the moment those sounds and vibrations happened. It was hilarious to watch how they all went off at the same time and most people would read and then comment. Totally useless Until John called him over to show him the email.

The only thing he could think was SERIOUSLY??? Why the hell weren't they discussing things in person? But it was Vance and he knew better than to bitch. Instead, he wrote the message in a piece of paper and hand it to John. "Put this in the computer, please."

Sir,

I don't think splitting up the group is a good idea. Considering that we're talking about a whore and it's the kid's first time, it should take a total of 10 minutes, 30 minutes with traveling time.

We can have dessert somewhere, or take a walk on the beach. Deeks and Marks can go with him and be back before we even pay for dessert. Then Deeks stays with one group and I stay with the other.

Since we're openly acknowledging the fact John's reading these, John, how do you feel about sushi for your birthday dinner? There's a great sushi restaurant at Hollywood and Vine, Katsuya. It's a nice restaurant. Strategically located along bus and subway routes, plus freeway and surface road exits. They do sushi and sashimi, some cooked foods for those who aren't big on raw fish.

While everyone else has drinks after, Marks and I can escort him out, find one of the working ladies of the evening. There's a hotel nearby so they can get off the street before LAPD can pick them up. We'll be back before it's time to leave for the club.

Plus, there are plenty of clubs in Hollywood, just pick a block. Several of them Brian would even approve of so you can talk them over with him, John. And, everything in Hollywood is gay friendly.

Before we pick the restaurant, maybe we should pick the club and who's going. Depending on who goes, we might decide to go into a different neighborhood, and we can drive Nick to Hollywood Blvd while they have coffee or ice cream or whatever else.

I know Deeks knows, but for those not from around here, most decent clubs are 21+, which means their IDs must reflect the date and they must look the part. Alexis would be easy. Pretty girls in a miniskirt maybe getting in with one of the older guys, it's going to be a breeze.

This should give us an idea of how many cars would stay in LA, how many would leave, how to split people up, etc.

John was very carefully pretending he could ignore parts of this conversation. But, since Derek wouldn't read email and everyone had tacitly acknowledged that John was apparently a part of planning this, he didn't bother hiding the fact he was reading.

The problem with picking a club is the age restrictions. As Marks said, a lot of clubs, and pretty much all the dance clubs, are 21+. So, while Alexis and I can probably pass, Nick wouldn't. The 18+ or all ages shows are just that, they're the clubs with live bands. And that's not the kind of club people want to go to...except maybe Sean.

I can put together a list of people who want to go and do the research for security. But, finding a club everyone will want to go to isn't very likely. Between the age restrictions, the kids, the older generation...this might end up being a much smaller group than you're planning on for the club. Like, maybe just the guys in the band.

John, this is your birthday. You invite who you want and pick the club you want. Nick will have his own birthday present. I'm already assuming that all the parents will not want to leave their children regardless of invitations and 'the older generation' kindly tells you that we'd rather not be subjected to what you or Mr. Kinney consider a good club.

Just find somewhere you can enjoy yourself and still be safe.
