Sam snorted, because in a way it was better than sitting around and doing nothing, and that was something that only an adrenaline junkie would understand. He hadn't made it through the SEAL program and then OSP without loving that rush. "I can see that."
The question had him paying attention, because one, it showed that he and G were really paranoid, and two, that maybe Westen wanted to be part of the group.
"Who says we don't trust you?" Sam asked, although he probably shouldn't have used 'we'. "You're responsible for the safety of the group that is investigating this Gas man. We're counting on you to keep two NCIS people alive. If we didn't trust you, you wouldn't be anywhere near them. Personally, I also expect you to get a very spoiled rich boy to behave as an agent, to teach Archibald how to think like one, to show him what you know. That's probably the most difficult job for any of us, getting civilian to think like agents."
