Out of everything that she could have reacted to, it was the part where she had to carry a gun which made her skin crawl. True, it was better than it had been, but she would have preferred a shotgun or rifle. However, G was, as usual, patient with her and promised her to take it from her if it got too much.
The last couple of weeks had been something of a roller coaster. Her slowly developing powers, the new people arriving all at once, training so hard she at the end of the day could barely move, and then Abby... She'd seen the signs, she had worried, but in the end her tests had shown that there was nothing wrong with her. At least not physically. To learn that Abby was once more in jail was making her feel guilty. Something was obviously wrong, but her set of skills couldn't help her. She'd actually been glad for the run this morning. It cleared her head.
The outing did not, but she'd learned not to ask a million questions. She went where she was told to go and did what she was asked to do. It wasn't ideal. In fact it was the opposite of what she preferred, but she understood that here things weren't what she was used to. She could be constantly annoyed or she could try to adapt. She'd chosen the latter.
Getting off the truck, she looked around, wondering where they were and what this place was.
