"Yes, why else would I ask? And mostly because it makes no sense to me. Why would you not make cakes? Why would you wait for parties? I bake all the time. Well I used to," she said. "If people were happy, if people were said, federal holidays, Sunday dinners. Cookies are okay, but you need cakes and pies. You should have hired a better cook."
Savannah shook her head. "No, you couldn't. First, I don't believe that you can't find someone that 'suits you' and I don't like the term anyway, but there is just the right balance of different and same to have someone here, to find that person. Second, you can't be alone forever. This is a hard life, an isolated one. We have each other and we try to be friendly, but as much as we try, I don't believe that it's enough. Everyone needs that one special person in his life. I'm not saying you will find that person on the first day, or even the first month, but I do believe that he or she is there."
