Re: Jenna and Eric step through
Derek moved really close and lowered his voice. "The rift opened."
Leon nodded. "It's the same dimension or really similar to the other one."
"It's more than that, Sir. When I arrived here, it happened immediately. In and out. I didn't know at the time, but I knew something was wrong a second later." It was hard not to when Los Angeles went from fallen concrete blocks to a normal city in the blink of an eye. "This lasted longer, and I could see through it."
He looked around making sure no one was listening. "There's no island in the other dimension. It's just water. Eric and Jenna-" he sighed. "Sir, they were eaten by something I've never seen before. It wasn't a fish. It was like... I don't know, some giant monster.
"We can't stay here, Sir," he said. "No amount of training can prepare people for that. No one can survive in those water with those beasts. That rift opens again, the person going through is dead."
Leon sighed. "They aren't giant monsters. They are... dinosaurs. I mean it's a guess on my part, but it would seem right. All right, Mr. Deeks, deal with your family for tonight. Tomorrow, we pack up. We'll move out when the sun goes down. It's easier to spot a light in the water in the dark, and we'll go up to the safe house. It should be inland enough. After that, we'll see for a more stable solution."
