"And then I'll tell you why you're wrong, and show you the right way," he answered. "But that's okay I'll make you think that it's your decision." They were still kissing and touching, and he didn't want to stop, even if they were in plain view. "Do I smile?" He hadn't realized, but he wasn't surprised. "I make love to you like that, because I can't get enough and you mean something, not just our love making. You mean .... more than anyone has ever meant to me and I do believe in you completely."
Travis closed his eyes and groaned. This was getting ridiculous. He was not a kid and he should have more self control than this. He should be talking about safety and keeping their guns ready, not whether they could make out like teenagers, and yet when TJ kept going, he stared back and nodded, because he wasn't sure that he could say anything for a few moments. "It's still strange that you're mine. The opposite... It's not that I mind, but it's going to take some time for it to sound normal."
He chuckled. "I'm not most people and I don't particularly like you spoiled life where everyone knows everything you do, whether it's true or not, and once it's in print, it's reality." He rolled his eyes. "But, since you are spoiled, I will make sure the good suit is in there. I assume you don't mind if I lose some of the ones I used for work. I'll also put a pair of jeans, shirt, sweater, mix and match for when we're in civilization again."
There was another paused, before he sighed. They were saying so much and TJ was revealing too much, whether he meant or not. "Did you hear what you said? We could end up somewhere. It's the first time that I've heard you include yourself in some activity without sounding sarcastic or bored or upset." Travis pressed his cheek against TJ's, saying nothing, which seemed the norm tonight. "I love you so much, TJ, and I'm going to do whatever it's best for you, always. I want you happy. That's all it matters to me. I hope you know that."
Pulling back, he smiled again. "I'm not going to tell you what you did wrong or right with Savannah when I didn't listen to the conversation, but just- see if you can consider it a clean slate and try again. For me."
Travis knew that it was hard for TJ to understand. In fact, most people wouldn't understand. "I didn't have a family, though. I had to make one, and it changed every few months. With each move, the definition changed, and I had to adapt. I didn't have blood and commitments changed too. I didn't even have a ... a home before you. I never had anything you consider family, so I had to make my own definition, and Deeks... well, I'm pretty sure he has a similar history. Callens, too. Savannah, her parents stopped talking to her. Sean and Jenna grew up without a dad because his life was classified. This is why people like us make up these families that make no sense to normal people. It's not just about dying for him, I'd be there, to make sure that Savannah and his kids were taken care of. I know it's so outside your experience, but it's the best I've had, the best many of us had. I'm not asking you to adopt their entire crazy family, but if you could try with Deeks and Savannah I'd appreciate it."
